St. Louis Beacon Article - Helvetica: A typeface that says so much about who we are -- and who we want to be

Mary Delach Leonard of the St. Louis Beacon reviewed Helvetica, the Community Cinema film for December:
"OK, so this documentary about a typeface offers no death-defying car chases, sloppy kisses or incredible special effects. (It is, after all, a sans serif.) But to his credit, filmmaker Gary Hustwit has produced a fascinating study of something that speaks to people daily, all over the globe: the Helvetica typeface." To read the full review, click here.

Movie Reviews

Mary Delach Leonard of the St. Louis Beacon reviewed I.O.U.S.A., the Community Cinema film for November:
"A parody from "Saturday Night Live" is one of the more amusing scenes used by the filmmakers of the documentary "I.O.U.S.A." to explain in understandable language the causes and effects of the ever-growing U.S. national debt, which as of today, stands at just under $53 trillion. New York Times Review of I.O.U.S.A.
Tackling Our Unsexy National Debt By Jeannett Catsoulis on August 22, 2008
"Yet another documentary that everyone should see but most will not, “I.O.U.S.A.” tackles the unsexy topic of our soaring national debt and its likely consequences for present and future Americans — or at least those who survive the tsunamis, water shortages and Beijing-level air quality promised by Al Gore."
